Our Industrial crews recently completed five simultaneous projects in York, Pennsylvania, for RHI Magnesita, the global leader in refractory products used in industrial processes.
TACKLING CAPITAL PROJECTS
Our work with RHI Magnesita began with two capital projects. The first included the installation of a new primary crusher, screen and sizer. We also partnered with our Site and Materials teams to form and place all concrete foundations and construct two K-Rock retaining walls. All work on this project was completed in March.
The second project, located in the Engineered Ceramics building, included removal of interior walls, equipment and offices; construction of two additional steel truss sections; relocation of a Grieve oven with associated equipment; construction of three additional structures including a pre-engineered truck canopy; excavation and placing of rebar and concrete; and fabrication and erection of steel for two smaller structures. Crews wrapped up work on the Engineered Ceramics building in June.
BUILDING STRONG RELATIONSHIPS
Before these capital projects were complete, RHI Magnesita contracted Kinsley for additional maintenance jobs including changing out the coal feeder, replacing three check valves in the pit pump lines and repairing beams on the specialties platform. While these maintenance projects were generally smaller in nature, they still presented challenges of their own. More often than not, crews had to schedule work on these projects around RHI Magnesita’s plant operations to minimize disruptions.
Through hard work and quality craftsmanship, Kinsley’s Industrial team was the perfect fit to deliver these projects for RHI Magnesita. Strong relationships continue to earn us repeat work with this client.
